Description
Elfride Trötschel (1913-1958) was a soprano from Dresden. The beginning of her artistic career is directly linked to the musical city of Dresden, further stations were East and later West Berlin as well as a multitude of international appearances. Trötschel's diversity was remarkable: from opera and vocal-symphonic works to chamber music and operetta. She was known for her preference for modern music as well as the music of Slavic composers.
In addition to a biography of Trötschel, this volume elaborates in detail on the characteristics of Trötschel's voice and presents its diversity in terms of vocal technique, singing and interpretation. In the process, 15 of Trötschel's performances are analysed in depth.
