Die Europäisierung der Einlagensicherung im Kontext der Europäischen Bankenunion

In this book, the author deals with the European Banking Union, the finalisation of which aims at further integration of the European banking sector. The book focuses on deposit insurance, which is to be established as the third pillar of the banking union. Up to now, deposit insurance has existed only at the national level. In order to increase confidence in the stability of the banking sector and to break the link between states and banks, the author proposes a common European deposit insurance system. What the status quo of deposit insurance is, whether there is a need for such a European deposit insurance system and what proposals have been made are the subject of this study.
