Die Konstruktion der Mutterliebe im deutschen Heftroman (1970–2020)
Tectum, 1. Edition 2020, 178 Pages
Description
Mother's love is a term that appears in trivial literature to the present day and has a recognizable effect. What is meant by the concept of mother’s love in the German trivial literature and what function does it have in social discourse?
As a historian and sociologist, Birgit Panke-Kochinke was looking for answers to these questions. Therefore she analysed about 400 magazine novels that have been published in Germany since the 1970s.
The result: Of course, on the one hand mother’s love is a fiction, which the genre of the novel requires. But on the other hand, it is also part of a social discourse and, in its discursiveness, it forms mentality.
