Geschlechterkonstruktionen im Abenteuerroman
Eine literatursoziologische Untersuchung deutscher Heftromane (1970–2000)
Tectum, 1. Edition 2022, 208 Pages
Description
A literary sociological analysis of adventure stories in which female protagonists play a leading role provides an insight into gender constructions, as designed in the field of pulp fiction at the end of the 20th century. It also reveals the world view that is hidden behind the backdrop to such adventures: taking up the fight against evil and the uncanny using all means allows good to triumph. The polarisation of gender characters in these tales thus corresponds to the polarisation of the moral foundations of society.
This study is part of a research series by the author which is dedicated to the reconstruction of key characteristics of pulp fiction literature that is effective in the mass media.
