The Wirecard scandal has made it clear that the functionality of the German auditing market is limited. This book sheds light on the economic correlations that are responsible for this. It also proposes measures that can be taken to restore the functioning of competition. The book focuses on conducting a comparative analysis of several reform options, particularly examining instruments that address the market structure, including, for example, joint audits and (managed) shared audits. This study thus makes a contribution to the assessment of various instruments that are regularly discussed in both politics and academia.
