The public economy as a pluralistic, public welfare-oriented economic system is at the heart of this systematic introduction. With an anthropological foundation and historical context, the volume deals with the morphology of the public economy, its ethos, economic organisation law and questions of public services – understood as infrastructure policy as well as local social space development. Reflections on legal philosophy and ethics sharpen the interdisciplinary approach. An outlook on transformations in the economy for the common good between theory, utopia and practice rounds off the presentation.
