Description
The former Crucian Hans Thamm founded the Windsbacher Knabenchor in 1946 and within a few years formed it into a top choir. Its development in the ecclesiastical environment and in the cultural seclusion of Windsbach repeatedly met with incomprehension and resistance. This biography, written on the occasion of Hans Thamm's 100th birthday, gives for the first time a well-founded overview of his origins, influence and above all his achievements as a choir director, visionary pioneer entrepreneur, committed pedagogue and as a devout herald of the musica sacra, until his premature retirement in 1977. His energies were exhausted. He remained faithful to musica sacra and finally had time for himself, his family and his organ.

Reviews
