Description
This volume contains the papers presented at a workshop on Regional Input-Output Analysis of the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWA) held at June, 21-23, 2000. More than forty internationally well-known experts in this field discussed theoretical and empirical questions and problems connected with regionalized input-output-analysis, measuring the regional impact and benchmarking of airports.
The last topic is a result out of many discussions at the Hamburg Aviation Conferences which are jointly organised by the University of Hamburg, the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWA), the Hamburg Airport and the State Ministry of Economics of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. It seemed very logical to handle this problem in more detail and depth at an special workshop.
The first part of this volume, therefore, contains papers on conceptual issues of regional input-output-analysis, the second one airport case studies of regional impact analysis and the third part extensions of regional input-output-analysis like identification of geographical clusters and combining input-output with productivity analysis.
