Strategisches Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement in Forschungsorganisationen
Nomos, 1. Edition 2016, 158 Pages
Description
Research and technology organizations (RTOs) can play an important role for a sustainable development. However, the RTOs are just beginning to develop strategic concepts for this purpose.
In a multi-case study of three large German RTOs (Fraunhofer, German Aerospace Center DLR and FZ Jülich) the following questions are examined:
• How can the concept of sustainable development be incorporated into the strategies of RTOs?
• What are the challenges and problems arising in strategic sustainability management of RTOs?
• Which approaches for further improvement may there be?
Building on the findings of the three cases a cross-case analysis is conducted and general conclusions are derived. These can be interpreted as endogenic success factors of strategic sustainability management in RTOs.
