Description
This third edition of the CPN yearbooks reflects the current mainstreaming of peacebuilding, conflict prevention and crisis management in the EU’s and other institutions’ foreign policy. The volume addresses the issues of how to measure the impact that specific policies have on the ground: are they, in fact, contributing to the dampening of violence or do they add – unintentionally – to the escalation or prolongation of conflicts?
The results of this interdisciplinary discussion are presented in the first part of the Yearbook; the second part offers a selection of SWP-CPN products which includes an analysis and evaluation paper (External Actors and Security Sector Reform), a mapping report (Development Activities Relevant to Small Arms and Light Weapons), an ad hoc briefing paper (The Kurds, the EU and the US) and a briefing paper (Ethiopia).
The nine chapters were contributed by academics and practitioners from across Europe, the United States and Africa.
