Designing a digital and flexible Federal Administration Authority in Germany is of utmost importance. In addition to reducing bureaucratic structures and increasing employer attractiveness, the main goals are to maintain and promote the skills, motivation and health of its employees in a sustainable way. By means of evidence-based studies in the public sector, expert interviews and a comprehensive employee survey in the German Federal Administration Authority, the authors of this book analyse challenges and requirements in the areas of digital transformation, working from home, demographic change, personal and health management as well as leadership quality. Their findings reveal that four key areas of action are critical for successful digital transformation in the Federal Administration Authority.
