Both the public sphere and specialised academic circles are focusing more on medical criminal law than ever before, and the scope of duties of legal experts who work in this field is extremely diverse and wideranging. As a result, those affected by breaches of this law and those lawyers who advise them are in need of guidance. This need for guidance thus formed the basis of the 8th Conference on Criminal Law in Medicine, which took place in Düsseldorf.
