Administrative public relations work is subject to constant change as a result of advances in communication and information media. Additionally, it is continuously growing more diverse and gaining importance in the vast variety of administrative areas where public relations are implemented. The specific prerequisites for the legality of official information work are still unclear and disputed.
This thesis examines the tension that arises from public administration announcements and provides guidelines on how to resolve the conflict of interests between the public’s interest in receiving information, the effectiveness of administration and the fundamental rights of natural persons and legal entities. The aim of this analysis is to study the legal admissibility of administrative informational activity, its possibilities and its restrictions using the examples of Germany’s Federal Trade Commission and Federal Financial Supervisory Authority.
