Betriebliche Arbeitsbeziehungen in Estland, Lettland und Litauen

The book analyses enterprise level industrial relations in Estonia, Latvia und Lithuania. The aims of the book are twofold: Firstly, relevant macroeconomic conditions, national representation structures of workers' interests, legal regulations and historic path dependencies are compared and secondly a typology of representation structures on the enterprise level is developed. The empirical focus of the book is based on semi-structured interviews with employee and employer representatives in 25 enterprises in the sectors energy and gas, transport, and retail trade. The interviews were conducted by the author in 2009 and 2010. The representation typology has the potential of being the basis for an overall analysis of specific characteristics and trends in the collective representation of workers' interests in the Baltic States.
