Details
Schools should foster learning with all senses, including the sense of movement. In a preface the meaning of physical activity to children’s and young person’s development is being explained. The methodical material shows concrete examples for learning in motion at grammar schools in social studies / legal studies / business with the following aims: Additional access to information is to be opened up, e.g. by understanding economic, social and political relations by movement or acting out role plays concerning political and legal topics.
Processing information can be optimised by stating one’s own experiences and positions or consolidating knowledge on political facts while walking through the room or while changing seats.
Learning in motion also helps to prevent children from sitting in one position for too long. In addition, it can increase the pleasure in learning. Moreover, pupils are supposed to connect autonomous learning with movement but also to find new variations and to collaborate with a partner.
