Bürgerliche Freiheit und repressive Totalität

Details
This study addresses the questions of why the contradictions and crises in our middle-class capitalist society have not led to it being questioned on a lasting, emancipatory level, and why even in the 21st century reactions to that society have assumed reactionary forms which are severely eroding democracy and disrupting society. By examining these relations both socially and psychologically, the study puts our society’s promise of enabling individuals to live free and self-determined lives to the test and, in the tradition of class theory, endeavours to identify and define a revolutionary subject which could initiate social change.
