Das Verhältnis zwischen Rundfunkveranstaltern und freien Produzenten im Lichte der Filmförderung

For a long time, there has been disagreement in the area of film funding between German film producers and TV broadcasters regarding the appropriateness of the contractual relationships and the influence of the broadcasters in various funding committees. While the producers claim an imbalance with an advantage on the broadcaster's side, the latter want to reap profits out of their substantial investments in federal and regional film funding institutions. The thesis assesses how the interests of both groups could be united and how a fair allocation of rights and compensation could be ensured. The focus is on the assessment of the legal framework requirements and the current case law in film funding law as well as, based on this background, the illustration of possible alternatives.
