Das Zeitalter der Ungewissheiten

We now find ourselves in a period of great uncertainty. All over the world, national minorities feel that national majorities are unreceptive to the most important of their national and identitary claims. However, nation-states are focused almost exclusively on addressing non-identitary issues such as: international economic competiveness and the impact of globalization; remedying the growing fiscal crisis; poverty and epidemics; transnational migration; terrorism; and unfettered energy consumption. While these issues are important and require the mobilization of political and economic resources, they should not be used as a pretext to avoid responding to the legitimate claims of national minorities within a plurinational context.
