Dem Unaussprechlichen nachspüren

In a noisy world, silence is like a niche in which you can retreat into a peaceful calm. Silence is a multifaceted phenomenon. We encounter it in vital and deserted spaces, in quiet things whose discrete nature fascinates us – but also in ourselves. It has an audible character, but at the same time it surrounds us as a feeling in our own beings. In contemplative and meditative silence, people are completely at their own level – removed and focussed. How can we learn to become silent in order to protect ourselves from the erosive power of an over-rotating world of abstract systems? What can we say about the (in itself ineffable) feeling of being abandoned in the apparent nothingness of silence? What could silence even mean to us?
