Description
Modern information and communication technologies (ICT) are having a significant impact on our society. The use of these innovations not only determines what content we consume, but also how we create and reflect on information. As a result, they are also challenging liberal democracies. The work sees the main reason for this in the design of ICT as it limits and initiates the way they function. To what extent can democratic practice be reproduced by design? With the political-theoretical analysis of the relationship between action, design and democracy, the work uncovers the (communicative) power of the so-called new “leading media” and offers an impulse for their democratization.
