Description
In this book, two philosophical movements, the Kyoto School and German Idealism, which have been analysed separately up to now, are examined together. The aim is to shed light on each other by reflecting on six major themes: History, nature, art, law, knowledge and religion.
Ryōsuke Ohashi received his doctorate summa cum laude in Munich in 1969 with a thesis on Schelling and Heidegger and his habilitation in Würzburg in 1983 with a thesis on Hegel. He is the editor of the anthology ‘Die Philosophie der Kyoto-Schule’ (3rd ed. 2014) and is a member of the fourth generation of the Kyoto School and one of the leading representatives of intercultural philosophy.
