Gemischtwirtschaftliche Unternehmen

A considerable number of private investors co-own public companies. However, in comparison there are very few studies which deal with the specific issues related to the management of such mixed economy companies. The individual contributions in this supplement to the “Zeitschrift für öffentliche und gemeinwirtschaftliche Unternehmen” (ZögU) (The Journal of Public and Mixed Economy Companies) present the phenomenon of mixed economy companies in detail from a variety of perspectives. Above all, these studies highlight not only the lack of empirical data on this subject in Germany and Europe but also the gap in existing research into it. However, these studies do make a significant contribution to bridging this gap. In the supplement, both academics and practitioners broach the subject in question, identify important strategic challenges and suggest possible approaches to meeting them.
