Globale Krisen - Lokale Konflikte?

The volume deals with how social movements in Africa are affected by globalisation and transnationalisation. Decisions made at the global level have direct impacts on civil societies in the global South. Local and pan-African networks mobilise related to global processes. They build networks between South and North, and among activists within in the global South, between different states and world regions, increasingly bridging language and other barriers. What relevance does globalisation have for social movements in Africa? How are they integrated in international conferences and forums? How do they act within transnational activist networks? What role does external funding play?
