Universities for the public service, as a homogeneous higher education sector, are not the top public perception. However, given the pressing problems of demographic change and the challenges of digitization, they are able to develop cooperative strategies and options for action. This anthology is based on the basic knowledge of the study by the publisher from 2019. It opens the volume in a short summary, which then integrates the perspectives of individual universities as well as the perspectives of selected specialist areas. On the one hand, the authors are made up of the heads of selected universities, on the other hand, there are renowned experts who have made a name for themselves beyond their university boundaries.
