Every educational institution, regardless of whether it is an academy, a technical college or a university, is a mental and physical instrument of education. This institutionalised instrument has developed historically and is culturally different depending on the country one is from, the language one speaks, one’s social class and one’s gender. Why is this so or, more importantly, for how much longer? The demise of higher education has commenced. Anyone who enjoys learning, does so independently of the overbearingly authoritarian and boring universities these days. The hour of the autodidacts and brave dilettantes has arrived.
