Kommunale Demokratie 2.0

This interdisciplinary analysis scrutinises the legal conception of local democracy in our digital society. Digital media undeniably have a significant impact on society, but it is not self-evident that the legal conception of local democracy is still applicable to our changing reality. The reason for this is that that legal conception is based on actual assumptions about society which are affected by digital media change. Given this fact, this analysis joins the interdisciplinary discourse on this subject from a jurisprudential perspective and examines the effects of digital media change on democracy. It outlines both the concept of ‘local democracy 2.0’ and a theoretical design with which to manage social transformation.
