Kooperationsstrukturen und Kooperationsvereinbarungen zwischen der EU und den Mitgliedstaaten im Rahmen gemischter Abkommen

This monograph deals with the informal cooperation structures and formal cooperation agreements between the EU and its Member States regarding the conclusion and implementation of mixed agreements. For this purpose, the author collected the cooperation agreements, and analysed them in terms of content and law. He then identified how the interests of the EU and its Member States are coordinated and represented on the international level from the point of view of loyal cooperation. Expert interviews with national and EU repre-sentatives complement the theoretical analysis and show that, despite some conflicts, cooperation agreements have the positive effect of more effective and more uniform international representation of the EU and its Member States. The composition of the cooperation agreements, their analysis and the potential for im-provement thus make an important contribution to our understanding and the further development of EU external relations.
