Leben im Fokus

This anthology provides new perspectives on the moral value of living beings. It integrates pioneering theories from the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries with current debates in biocentrism, thereby offering a nuanced exploration of the intrinsic, instrumental, and eudaimonistic value ascriptions of natural life forms. The contributions offer a critical analysis of the theoretical foundations of the concept of life, stimulate novel approaches to the evaluation of living entities, and provide impetus to ongoing research debates in environmental ethics.
