Goals motivate and give our actions structure and meaning. This is particularly true for life goals, which are the points of reference for individual lifestyles. The different methods available for standardised assessment of life goals present very different internal structures, are in part difficult to access and not fully documented. With the present work, a broad-based, openly accessible and fully documented life goal questionnaire could be developed. Validity was tested for the target group of students and a comparison of subjects was conducted. The life goal dimensions provide evidence of congruence with existing motivation models.
