Mittelstandsorientierte Weiterentwicklung des Einwanderungsrechts mit Blick auf das Handwerk

The lack of skilled workers is posing various challenges to companies depending on their size and location (from those in metropolitan regions to those in village surroundings) in many different respects. In addition to vocational qualifications playing a significant role in this regard, so does enabling skilled workers recruited from third countries to adapt to the new culture they find themselves in. This study discusses the various obstacles and challenges in this respect and, based on an in-depth analysis of previous experiences and practices, reveals which measures can help small and medium-sized artisans’ companies located in rural areas especially to search for and train such workers. In doing so, it focuses on vocational training measures which also facilitate the workers’ transition to a different culture and on means of helping them contact local companies.
