Postsäkulare Konflikte in Israel
Eine Analyse aus der Perspektive zeitgenössischer Kritiken der Säkularisierungsthese
Tectum, 1. Edition 2023, 254 Pages
Description
The secularisation thesis predicts the long-term loss of religion’s importance due to it being at odds with modernity. In some countries, however, religion is gaining in importance.
In this book, Hannes Vorhofer analyses religious–secular conflicts in Israel against the background of the most important criticisms of the secularisation thesis. He develops a theoretical model that is the first to combine the secularisation thesis, post-secularity, de-secularisation and the return of religious fundamentalism. This case study confirms that post-secularity is a period of its own and that Habermas' post-secular society can be a precondition for de-secularisation and the return of religious fundamentalism.
