Description
In the past, quite insufficient attention has been paid to the relationship between traditional craft trades and microenterprises in the informal sector, i.e. newly forming economic and employment structures and what connection this has with vocational training and the need to develop appropriate curricula. On the basis of his many years of work as development expert and educational planner in countries of the Third World the author keenly experienced this lack of practice-based scientific analyses and became aware of the relative ineffectiveness of the existing instruments.
This work therefore aims to contribute to the integration of the informal sector into educational and employment policy and delivers arguments for a targeted promotion of the informal sector by national and international donors.
These studies are oriented less to the theory of this problem but rather to improving the actual working and living conditions of the target groups in the informal sector and integrating these people into vocational training aid. It was necessary, therefore, to process own experiences made in the research area involved in close cooperation with the affected and responsible persons in India and Pakistan.
