Produkthaftung für Computerprogramme

This thesis deals with product liability for software throughout the product life cycle. It examines not only the liability of software manufacturers, but also the liability of software intermediaries such as software distributors, platform operators (of app stores), host providers and importers, who are increasingly coming into focus as liability addressees. Once the abstract criteria have been developed, the product liability obligations of the actors are presented so that the work can also be used as a handbook. The work also addresses the Commission's proposal for a new Product Liability Directive (COM(2022) 495 final) and its impact on the liability examined.
