Description
Reflection is of central importance for the acquisition of a professional habitus. Reflection, understood as a theory-guided examination of problems, is seen as a basic condition for successful action in everyday professional life. In this sense, it must also be considered a key category for the professionalization of social work. A critical examination of current theses on the profession forms the basis on which the core components of professional reflection are elaborated and summarized. The study, whose object of investigation is students' performance records, focuses on the question of whether the course of study enables students to be reflexive in the face of problems of practice. Based on the results, suggestions for linking theory and practice were developed. These refer to the framework conditions and methods of acquiring a reflexive professionalism.
