Städtebaurechtsnovelle 2017

This volume presents a summary of the latest academic conference on urban and regional planning that took place at the Technical University in Berlin. The event addressed new demands in urban development with regard to the amendment of urban planning legislation in 2017. As regards the objectives of the amendment and its legislation process as well as the main aspects of the new regulations, this book contributes to a discussion on the relevance of the amendment for municipal planning. The amendment especially affects urban development contracts and local construction plans according to § 13b of the BauGB (Germany’s building regulations), the strengthening of residential use and the authorisation of second residences. This book also examines amendments to the Baunutzungsverordnung (Germany’s land-use ordinance), particularly the new category of ‘urban area’ according to § 6a of the BauGB as well as new regulations concerning holiday flats. This collection of conference proceedings intends to help practitioners who have to deal with these new regulations.
