The Future of Euro-Atlantic Relations

Euro-Atlantic relations are in a state of transition. Although the United States and Europe continue to share vital and important interests concerning security, defense, international trade and finance, the transatlantic partners have yet to find a new framework for their partnership to replace the old Cold War paradigm. With an eye to the future, the authors assembled in this volume discuss recent developments in foreign and security policy, economic co-operation, and cultural ties, with their likely impact on the Euro-Atlantic partnership. They identify the key elements of this unique relationship, and make suggestions as to how the United States and Europe could improve their collaboration in dealing with the challenges of regional hotspots and crises on a global scale.
