This handbook offers a profound overview of the theoretical foundations of, empirical findings on and approaches to discourses on excessive indebtedness, provides insights into the realities of the lives of the diverse groups affected by debt, discusses comprehensive methods of counselling, intervention and research, and opens up interdisciplinary perspectives on this issue. Thus, it is the first publication in German to compile the body of knowledge on the topic of excessive indebtedness, while considering the different legal frameworks in various national contexts. The book is aimed at experts in theory and practice as well as students of social work, the social economy and the social sciences and aims to stimulate professional and indepth research into excessive indebtedness.
