Details
The “frozen” conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh is one of the longest ethno-territorial disputes in the post-Soviet space. It is not only this that makes the particular difficulty of the problem evident. Also, the question arises of why a solution to Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has not yet been possible. To this end, it is necessary to take a closer look at the historical backgrounds of the conflict, the actors involved and the latest developments around it.
This book is an introduction to the topic, which investigates the above aspects. In doing so, it analyses the genesis of the conflict and, based on this, the goals and interests as well as specific policies of the involved actors. In order to complete the picture following a systematic conflict analysis, it also looks at political developments around the conflict in the post-war phase. Not only does the conclusion point out the historical complexity of the conflict, but also the intricate constellation of actors involved and their current interests.
