Description
Carl Schmitt's dictum on access to power is of considerable interdisciplinary interest across epochs, affecting both political science and history in equal measure. As a joint work, this volume aims to develop initial proposals for remedying the lack of research that exists in both disciplines. To what extent are the decisions of rulers based on outside influences? What forms of communication emerge when access to the holders of power is informal? Hypothesis: A topographical shortage of access to a ruler enables their entourage to influence the ruler's decisions. In order to win over a ruler, an actor must act in a socio-prudent manner.

Reviews
