The collection of the contributions of the 8th Heidelberger Kunstrechtstage deals under the general theme “property – artistic freedom – protection of cultural property” with fundamental issues and current hot spots: Criminal, civil and international law dimensions of the case of “Gurlitt”, protection of art and cultural assets, framework requirements for a new right of protection of cultural objects in Germany, reform process of the German and European right of cultural protection, illegal trade in cultural objects from the police viewpoint, effective protection of cultural objects in Germany from the attorney point of view, art dealing and expertise, the case of the “Techno-Viking” as well as the case of Jonathan Meese.
