Natural Gas and EU Energy Law

After little activity in the field of energy policy for a lengthy period, the European Union considerably stepped up its efforts in the late 1980s, particularly in the domain of natural gas. These efforts have culminated in an intense debate since the early 1990s on the structures for a single energy market.
The papers in this volume examine individual acts or proposals for EU legislation on natural gas in both legal and energy policy terms. The aim is to trace the development of a European policy on natural gas and indicate possible trends in the future. This publication is intended for researchers, politicians and officials concerned with these questions and for those working in the energy industry.
The authors are legal advisors in the energy industry and possess long-standing experience in European energy policy.
